Description

Uracil DNA Glycosylase (UDG) catalyzes the release of uracil from uracil-containing single-stranded or double-stranded DNA, but not from RNA or oligonucleotides (6 or fewer bases).

UDG is active over a broad pH range with an optimum at pH 8.0, does not require a divalent cation, and is inhibited by high ionic strength (>200 mM).

Meridian UDG is purified to SDS-PAGE purity and is free of endonucleases, exonucleases, nickases and RNases.

Source: Recombinant E. coli strain carrying the over expressed gene of Uracil DNA Glycosylase from E. coli.

Product Highlights

  • Removes uracils from DNA - causes fragmentation of DNA and stops amplification in a PCR
  • Easy-to-use - novel, sensitive mutant is irreversibly inactive after heating

Storage & Stability

All components should be stored at -20°C upon receipt for optimum stability. Repeated freeze/thaw cycles should be avoided.

When stored under the recommended conditions and handled correctly, full activity of the reagents is retained until the expiry date indicated on the outer box label.
